The ban on political ads implemented by Facebook after the U.S. presidential election will be lifted by the social network.

“We will resume accepting political, election and social ads in the United States from Thursday, March 4th,” said the company led by Mark Zuckerberg in an update on its official blog reviewed by EFE.

It added that during the suspension period they received comments and considerations that it will take into account to see what improvements they can implement in the political advertising system.

Ads from political groups and candidates will be able to be published on both Facebook and Instagram.

The restriction of ads by the social network was applied after the culmination of the November 3rd elections under the argument of avoiding the dissemination of misinformation about the results.

Facebook’s measure comes a week after Google resumed the publication of this type of ads, which had been suspended since January 13th after the January 6th riots on Capitol Hill.
