Former President Donald Trump said on Monday that the U.S. government’s top epidemiologist, Anthony Fauci, was trying to “reinvent history” to cover up his “erroneous recommendations” and “bad decisions.”
These decisions and recommendations were “fortunately overturned” by the former-President while he still was in Office.
According to the Trump, both Fauci and the former coordinator of the White House task force against the coronavirus, Deborah Birx, conceived “bad policy decisions” that, if implemented as proposed, “would have left our country open to China and closed the reopening” of the American economy.
In that context, the former Republican chairman said that Fauci was untruthful in trying to take credit for the “vaccine” in a “fake interview” last night on CNN, when in fact, he said, “he was unable to pressure the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to “move as quickly as possible.”
“I was the one who did it, and even the fake news media knows it and reports it,” he said.
He added that the development of the vaccine in the country under his presidency was accomplished in record time, in nine months, “which is saving the whole world.”
Thus, while doctors Fauci and Brix were “moving slowly”, vaccines were purchased for billions of dollars with the “calculated bet” that they would work, “perhaps the most important bet in the history of the world”, he said.
