Under the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration, the border crisis is quickly escalating. The questionable handling of the immigration issue has made the Democratic administration a target of criticism.

On this occasion, because of the possible problems for national security, since, according to information provided by Axios, four migrants detained at the southern border coincide with names on the FBI’s terrorist watch list.

A congressional aide briefed on the matter told Axios that “Customs and Border Protection confirmed to Congress today that four people apprehended at the southern border since October 1 match names in the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Database.”

Axios said, “Three of the people arrested are from Yemen and one from Serbia. The four arrests are more than the number of similar people taken into custody during the entire recent fiscal year, according to the source.”

The information explains that three migrants from Yemen and one from Serbia were picked up at the southern border by the U.S. Border Patrol since the start of the fiscal year in October.

A large portion of the migrants arriving at the southern border come from Mexico and Central American countries. Many are seeking asylum, family reunification or better jobs in the United States, but there are also those who take advantage of the border crisis, largely generated by the Biden-Harris administration, to enter the country illegally and create a security risk for Americans.

Democrats asserted, without evidence, that there were no detainees on the terror watch list

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA 23rd District) reported last Monday that there were possibly detainees at the southern border who matched the FBI’s terrorist watch list. The Republican representative made this warning after speaking with border agents who expressed concerns about the situation.

“When you go to Monument 3 and talk to those agents, it’s not just people from Mexico or Honduras or El Salvador, now they’re finding people from Yemen, Iran, Turkey,” McCarthy explained. “They’re catching people who are on the terrorist watch list and they’re rushing to do it all at once.”

Several Democrats and mainstream media outlets attempted to disprove the Republican representative.

So did Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), who in a tweet noted, “Weird as the Chairman of the subcommittee of Intelligence and Special Operations and a border state member of Congress haven’t heard anything about this. Gonna ask for a briefing. Pretty sure he is either wrong or lying.”

“Gallego wasn’t the only Democrat to attack McCarthy over the ‘terrorist watch list’ phrase. Rep. Veronica Escobar, D-Texas, accused McCarthy of trying to ‘fuel divisions’ and target immigrants,” explained Fox News, which elaborated a report on the media and Democratic politicians who attacked the Republican without evidence.

Fox claimed that several media outlets tried to downplay McCarthy’s claims and even pointed out that he was wrong. For example, MSNBC highlighted that McCarthy was pushing “his luck on the border” by revealing the terrorist watch list claim. The media outlet said there were reasons to doubt the Republican’s words, but they only showed the Democrats’ claims as evidence.

On the other hand, Vox claimed McCarthy was “pushing one of Trump’s most notorious immigration lies.”

If the information revealed by Axios is confirmed, Democrats and several liberal media outlets that criticized McCarthy would not look very good.
