Donald Trump showed at CPAC that he is well positioned for the presidential election. The Democrats approved in the Senate a reform that will raise taxes to “fight inflation.” Gerardo Garibay Camarena talks about the most important issues of the week in Fuerte y Claro.
“Former President Donald Trump attends CPAC to give the closing message. Almost two years after his departure from the presidency, he remains the great leader of the Republican Party. He remains the most relevant American politician,” explained Garibay Camarena.
He argued that Trump’s enemies had the idea that once he left the White House, his image would fade. “This has not happened. Trump maintains his leadership and continues to be the most relevant figure in U.S. politics.”
Garibay Camarena also spoke about the intentions of Joe Biden’s administration to raise taxes and highlighted that this is a measure similar to that taken by regimes in countries where there is no freedom. He referred to the crisis in Ukraine and commented that it has become a war of attrition and there is a risk that what is happening will be forgotten and seen as something normal.
The war in Ukraine
Gerardo stressed that what is happening in Ukraine not only has consequences for that country, but will affect the whole world. “We have to remain attentive to what is happening in Ukraine. It seems that the war front is starting to move again to the south of the country. Russia controls approximately 20% of Ukraine’s territory and is trying to move further.”
