With the defeat in Pennsylvania, Republicans must win at least two races between Nevada, Arizona and Georgia to win the Senate. However, the results of this last race will have to wait a little longer, since Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker will face each other in a runoff on December 6.

With 95% of the votes counted, the Democrat surpassed the Republican, with 49.4% of the vote, against 48.5% for his rival, while the Libertarian Chase Oliver obtained 2.1%.

The results showed a marked ballot split. Tens of thousands of people voted for Brian Kemp for Governor and for Raphael Warnock for Senate, as the governor did not have much trouble in defeating Stacey Abrams, which he carried by almost 8%.

This difference suggested that it would be enough to push Walker above 50% and avoid a runoff, which Warnock knows all too well.

In 2020, after being the most-voted candidate in the general election, the pastor had to go head-to-head against Kelly Loeffler to define one of the two vacant seats that were available at the time.

Finally, on January 5, 2021, Warnock and Jon Ossoff defeated their opponents to dye Georgia blue.

Georgia defines senator on December 6

Unless Republicans prevail in both Arizona and Nevada, the fate of the Senate (yes, again) would be defined in Georgia.

Some project that Libertarian votes will go in greater proportion to the GOP, but others point out that Brian Kemp’s absence on the ballot will hurt Walker.

There is no doubt that weeks of campaigning lie ahead, with millions spent on ads and rallies everywhere, until the morning of December 7 and a winner has been declared in this race.
