On January 5th, Georgia will be decisive to the history of America: it is there where the legislative future of the world’s most powerful country, which today is threatened by leftist groups that want to come to power, will be defined for the next four years.

The U.S. electoral cycle was extended until January due to two battles between four candidates for the U.S. Senate. On November 2nd, none of them reached 50 percent of the votes needed to win the election.

One of the battles faces Republican David Perdue, who arrived in the Senate in 2015, against Democrat Jon Ossoff, 33 years-old, who lost a special election to the House of Representatives in 2017.

The other election battle is between Republican Kelly Loeffler, who replaced Johnny Isakson in the Senate in January 2019, and the controversial African-American pastor Raphael Warnock, who has been labeled a radical and anti-Semite.

Jon Ossoff is one of the current candidates for the Senate. He expresses an anti-business rethoric, although more moderate than that of other Democrats such as Sanders or Ocasio-Cortez, managing to move on to a second round that will define the future of the Senate on January 5th.

Ossoff proposes a completely unionized education, a closed and nationalist economy, and an increase in tax rates for businesspeople who invest the most in the state.

The National Republican Senate Committee described him as “an unserious candidate of the extreme left.” In fact, he received public support from Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders.

Ossoff said he would “work with Sanders on other issues, including efforts to support a $15 per hour minimum wage, invest in clean energy and seek out ordinary workers for change, rather than the people who have bought access and power in Washington.

On his website, Ossoff said he is “building a movement to organize a full-scale attack on corruption in Washington, starting with President Donald Trump and Georgia Senator David Perdue.”

According to The New Yorker in 2017, Ossoff has “progressive positions on women’s issues and health care” and “moderate positions on employment and security.”

Ossoff supports abortion rights, as well as U.S. participation in the Paris Agreement, and does not support the Green New Deal. He supports the Affordable Care Act (also known as Obamacare) and does not agree with “Medicare for All.”

Trump sent out a tweet the day before the April 19th primary, calling Ossoff a “super-liberal Democrat” who wanted to “protect criminals, allow illegal immigration and raise taxes. For his part, Ossoff dismissed Trump’s claims and called him “uninformed.”

Raphael Warnock is the other Democratic candidate in Georgia with aspirations to reach the U.S. Senate. Twenty-five years ago he ended up singing the international socialist anthem, as a greeting for Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders has already publicly expressed his support for Warnock. Likewise, the senatorial hopeful supports the expansion of the Affordable Healthcare Act.

Republican Senator Marco Rubio “stripped” the profile of Democratic candidate Raphael Warnock in an article.

“Democrat Raphael Warnock is the most radically liberal candidate in the country. He would vote in unison with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D, N.Y., to eliminate the filibuster rule, pack the U.S. Supreme Court, raise taxes on families and small businesses by billions of dollars, decimate families and farmers with the Green New Deal, socialize their healthcare, shut down the economy, and use technology companies as weapons to silence dissent,” Rubio said.

The senator recalled that Warnock has come to praise Marxism and socialism while criticizing capitalism: “Warnock was exposed once again as a liar when newly discovered images revealed that, after Castro’s death, Warnock praised his legacy as “complex” and compared the United States to Communist Cuba.”

In an interview with Atlanta Magazine, the candidate talked about a kind of drug price control: “I would expect to work across the aisle to reduce the cost of prescription drugs through price negotiations, which includes pushing for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid to have the power to negotiate lower drug prices.”

Warnock also talked about pressuring the big pharmaceutical companies: “At the federal level, we can press for Congress to reduce the power of special interests, such as the big pharmaceutical companies”.

Remember the reverend’s sermons, which have also sparked controversy for taking a position that has been described as “anti-Semitic and radical.”

“I am with Israel,” Raphael Warnock proclaimed in an opinion piece published on November 9th, alleging that his views are being distorted “for political gain. “Claims that I believe Israel is an apartheid state are patently false, I do not,” Warnock wrote.

“I am firmly opposed to the BDS movement and its anti-Semitic underpinnings. He concluded that “you can count on me to support the Jewish community and Israel in the United States Senate.”

However, an investigation by the Investigative Project on Terrorism into the Democratic candidate’s background revealed new, unreported allegations against Israel. Journalists Steven Emerson and David Swindle revealed six of Warnock’s most extreme supporters in a letter he signed with other pastors published by the National Council of Churches in March 2019 condemning Israel.

In the letter, the Democrat compared Israel to “oppressive regimes.” He also compared the security fence in the West Bank of Israel to the “Berlin Wall.”

Although Raphael Warnock can assure that today he “is with Israel,” the doubt remains with the voters of Georgia. Emerson and Swindle wonder, “Can you really trust that he will do so tomorrow when, as recently as last year, he felt comfortable signing his name to the claim that Israel was comparable to multiple racist and totalitarian states?

Democrats are pinning their hopes on Georgia to define the role they will play in the Senate. The race for that state is the Republicans’ chance to curb and control the initiatives of the radical left.

In fact, if the Democrats succeed in winning Georgia’s Senate seats, regulations such as gun control could become a reality, especially if Kamala Harris were to break a tie.
