The Cuban regime confirmed the death of a girl three days ago when a wall collapsed in her school, located in the eastern province of Guantanamo.

“During break time, second-grade student Magalis Vázquez Gómez was hit by a fence” which caused her immediate death, published on Facebook by the Provincial Directorate of Education.

The authorities of Guantánamo confirmed the news that had been circulating since Tuesday on social media and independent press.

The girl was between 7 and 8 years old and was studying at the Amador Martínez elementary school in the municipality of El Salvador in the eastern Cuban province.

Users on social media criticized the poor state of many schools and homes in the country and recalled that two years ago three girls died in the neighborhood of Jesus Maria, in Old Havana.

The girls, aged 11 and 12, were returning from school when the balcony of a building under demolition fell on them.
