Governor Gavin Newsom’s in-laws donate to DeSantis campaign

The in-laws of California Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom have reportedly contributed to Ron DeSantis’ campaign. The information was published by Fox News, which had access to the records of a trust linked to the Siebel family.

According to the reports, the trust is in charge of Kenneth F. Siebel Jr. and Judith A. Siebel, parents of Newsom’s wife, Jennifer Siebel. The amount they would have contributed would be $5,000 and, according to the documents, was made on April 6, 2022.

“Newsom’s father-in-law Kenneth Siebel has a long history of making donations to GOP candidates, according to Federal Election Commission filings. His most recent donations include contributions to the campaigns of Republicans Sens. Ron Johnson, Tom Cotton, and Josh Hawley,” Fox News reviewed.

Newsom critical of DeSantis

Both governors have criticized their government models. Gavin Newsom claimed in July that freedom in Florida would be under threat and therefore motivated the state’s residents to move to California. In fact, last week Newsom offered financial support to the campaign of Charlie Crist, who will try to win the election against Ron DeSantis. However, because of the insecurity and tax burden in the Democrat-led state, many residents have opted to move to Florida.
