Several cryptocurrency CEOs will testify in front of the House Financial Services Committee on December 8, where they will discuss digital assets and the future of the U.S. financial industry.
Among the CEOs called to testify is Jeremy Allaire, CEO of Circle, a digital payments company that uses “Stablecoins” for its low-fee transactions.
Also present will be Sam Bankman-Fried, CEO of broker FTX; a platform that allows investing in cryptocurrencies and futures. Another guest on the panel is Brian Brooks, CEO of Bitfury, a venture capital company that makes investments in blockchain, cryptocurrencies and digital security.
Chad Cascarilla of Paxos, was also invited. Paxos is a blockchain company designed to deposit digital assets, create digital infrastructure around the blockchain, and facilitate transactions.
Denelle Dixon, who chairs Stellar Development Foundation (SDF), will also be in attendance. SDF is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 to support the development and growth of the open source Stellar Network.
Finally, Alesia Hass, CEO of Coinbaise, one of the most important cryptocurrency brokers in the world, will also be present.
The panel will be led by Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-Ca), who chairs the House Financial Services Committee.
In 2019, Waters chaired the hearing on Facebook’s plans, now Meta, to launch its own cryptocurrency. She has also chaired different panels on cryptocurrencies, digital currencies and Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDC’s).
The hearing is titled “Digital Assets and the Future of Finance: Understanding the Challenges and Benefits of Financial Innovation in the United States” and it will take place on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. ET.
