Why are Hispanics Switching to the Republican Party?

Many Hispanics not only find it stupid, they resent much of the agenda that the Democrats are pushing these days. Pronouns, abortion agenda, gender ideology in schools, discussion about the invention of “Latinx” and Critical Race Theory, are just a few examples of issues that attract the attention of an American elite that doesn’t have to worry about the day to day problems, but that Hispanics care little about.

Hispanics come to this country chasing the “American dream,” they want to work, make money, and raise their children. That is why the economy and jobs are always the main factors when this community is asked about their concerns.

Democrats are dead wrong if they think Hispanic families spend their time thinking about changing the “o” to the “x” in the word “Latino,” when in reality they are worried about inflation, rising gas prices or their neighborhoods becoming more dangerous.

The new poll published by the Wall Street Journal clearly shows what those of us who work with this community see every day: more and more Hispanics are moving away from the Democratic Party to vote Republican. The Republican Party, even with all its mistakes, is much more responsive to the concerns and conservative values of the Hispanic community.

In 2020 Biden had 63% support among Hispanic voters; less than a year later, the Wall Street Journal poll shows that Hispanics are now evenly split between the two parties. For example, when asked about an eventual new contest between Trump and Biden in 2024, 44% said they would back Joe Biden and 43% said they would vote for Donald Trump.

Asked which party they would support if the congressional elections were held today, 37% of voters said they would support a Republican candidate, another 37% said they would vote for a Democrat, and 22% said they were undecided.

Just a few days ago in El American we interviewed Victor Jimenez, former spokesman for the Democratic mayor of D.C., who told us why he decided to switch parties. His phrase “Biden made me a Republican” describes a phenomenon that will become more and more widespread. The bad decisions of the Democratic administration are quickly bringing consequences, and although the media for the most part seem to be working to hide any mistakes by the president, it is impossible to hide the reality.

Those Hispanics who were happy because during the Trump administration they had a full wallet, the economy was going great and crime was not a big concern, are going to start voting Republican regardless of the disinformation spread by the Spanish-language media.

The Hispanic community is one of the fastest growing in the electorate. Most of us fled countries ruined economically and morally by leftist policies, we don’t want the same thing to happen in the United States. Undoubtedly, this community will play a key role in the upcoming elections.
