2021 has left us with 52 winners of El American’s Idiot of the Week award. Now you get to choose from the 3 finalists to determine who will be the brand new El American’s Idiot of 2021.

First nominee for Idiot of 2021 award: AOC

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a DNC agitprop star, prolific Instagram streamer, regular Twitter figure, “Latinx” and then a member of the House of Representatives from New York could add El American’s Idiot of 2021 award to her list of honors.

AOC was our Idiot of the Week in early April 2021, when in an Instagram Live she said that what was happening at the border “it’s not a border crisis, it’s an imperialism crisis, it’s a climate crisis. It’s a trade crisis. And also, it’s a carceral crisis.”

This speech full of clichés and falsehoods typical of an outdated communist already sounded idiotic enough, but what earned her the award was her enormous hypocrisy since under Donald Trump’s presidency, AOC was dedicated to taking pictures of herself apparently crying in front of a fence and comparing immigrant detention centers to “concentration camps.”

So far in Biden’s term, the border crisis has only worsened, and the use of “cages”—implemented by Obama—has intensified, forcing AOC to do mental pirouettes to justify it.

To no one’s surprise, this AOC hypocrisy has been repeated several times during the year, giving it extra points as a candidate for our annual award. Perhaps the one that caused the biggest stir was when she showed up at the elitist Met Gala in an expensive couture gown painted with the far-left slogan “Tax the Rich.” What dress would she wear to a hypothetical El American’s Idiot of 2021 award ceremony?

Second nominee for Idiot of 2021 award: Sen. Elizabeth Warren

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) has a record with which she could win El American’s Idiot of 2021 award by trade, but unfortunately, only 2021 idiocies count. Luckily (or unluckily), 2021 hasn’t been bad at all for Warren, highlighted by her Twitter battle against inflation, which got her the Idiot of the Week award in late November.

Elizabeth Warren is capable of blaming inflation on everyone but the policies of the Biden administration. Elizabeth has railed against greedy businessmen, the rich, meat packers, a secret cabal of cattle ranchers, Elon Musk and almost even the iceberg that sank the Titanic.

If Elizabeth Warren would only fight reality on Twitter, she would be harmless, but her puerile economic thinking ends up in laws that exacerbate inflation. If in this race for Idiot of 2021 Warren’s votes go up as much as prices, she is a very serious contender to take the award.

Third nominee for Idiot of 2021 award: LeBron James

Basketball player LeBron James is very dangerous on the court with the ball in his hands, but much more dangerous are his hands on the Twitter keyboard or with a microphone in front of the cameras.

In late April, LeBron James took home the Idiot of the Week award for a tweet—which he later deleted—threatening a police officer. In LeBron’s eyes, the cop was practically a racist murderer for gunning down a black girl. A video of the events reported by LeBron showed that the cop had fired in defense of another black girl who was apparently going to be stabbed.

In a subsequent tweet intended as an apology, LeBron again lashed out at systemic racism, the police, the system, and so on, and did not take the opportunity to complain about NBA referees because he ran out of characters.

Similar to these outbursts, LeBron James has had several during this year, both on the court, off the court and on Twitter. Of particular note is his animosity for Kyle Rittenhouse, his pique with Enes Kanter, his confrontations with spectators and, in general, his idyll with the Chinese Communist Party, his various complaints and his disconsolate cries.

Since LeBron James is used to being a champion and complaining, winning El American’s Idiot of 2021 award would be a perfect occasion for him to do what he does best: play the victim.
