Idiot of the Week: Pro-Segregation Centennial Elementary School

Centennial Elementary School in Denver, CO takes El American’s Idiot of the Week award with honors and fanfare. In their zeal to be the wokest and most anti-racist, they have ended up segregating their students based on race.

With its Families of Colour Playground Night event, Denver’s Centennial Elementary School has managed to make us wonder if this is the year 2021 or if we are back in the 1950s when racial segregation endorsed by the public system was the norm.

In the purest Orwellian “doublethink” style, the school insists that the move to segregate children by race is done in the name of “equity.” We don’t know what the standard of language classes at Denver’s Centennial Elementary School is, but it’s not very flattering that they confuse the concepts of “unity” with “division,” “segregation” with “equality,” and “racism” with “anti-racism.”

The last time we consulted the dictionary, those words were antonyms, but it must be that we are not up-to-date on the latest intellectual developments in “Critical Race Theory.” What we can be sure of is that the measure makes the Ku Klux Klan’s wettest dreams come true.

Who knows, maybe the idea of separating children and their families by the color of their skin is an elaborate and brilliant strategy to dismantle the Ku Klux Klan for good, who can now call it a day and disband. But no, the truth is that the school’s movement is one of the most idiotic we have witnessed in recent times.

Centennial Elementary is not the first to segregate

This isn’t the first time public officials have gone overboard in their attempt to look very woked up and take the applause of the left. Several schools have already made similar embarrassing decisions, such as an Atlanta school and Columbia University.

As Critical Race Theory continues to infect the minds of students, professors and administrators at schools and universities, the result is policies that are totally racist and discriminatory, but in the name of “equality,” “diversity” and “anti-racism.” If we are wrong-headed, it might seem that the left is not interested in ending racism, but in fueling it in order to continue using it in their political maneuvers.
