THE DESANTIS CAMPAIGN is strongly criticizing progressive tycoon George Soros through a radio ad aired on Radio Mambi (WAQI-AM) and TUDN Radio (WQBA-AM).

The recording came after an investment firm owned by billionaire George Soros partially financed the purchase of 18 Hispanic radio stations — including Radio Mambi, a prominent conservative Miami station — by a new media group controlled by Democratic officials.

“The left is taking control of our local media, billionaire George Soros, known for funding far left causes, is now funding the purchase of Hispanic radio stations here in Miami. Soros and Biden supporters have teamed up to buy this station from TelevisaUnivision,” is heard in a recording posted on the Miami Radio Libre website.

“They come with their ideological agenda. Soros and his minions know full well what this community stands for in the fight against socialism in the United States. This community will not be confused,” the ad continues. “Under the leadership of Governor Ron DeSantis, Florida is standing up to media corporations and leftist disinformation.”

George Soros and the Democrats seek to win back the Latino vote

Last week, a media startup, Latino Media Network, announced the purchase of 18 Hispanic radio stations in major U.S. cities for $60 million. This new media group is led by Latino community members with close ties to the Democratic Party and financed primarily by Lakestar Finance, an affiliate of Soros Fund Management, a company founded by progressive mogul George Soros.

To start operations, Latino Media Network raised a total of $80 million. Jess Morales Rocketto and Stephanie Valencia are the two Latina activists and entrepreneurs spearheading the project.

Valencia was an advisor to former President Barack Obama, serving in his administration in the White House Office of Public Engagement and also as deputy director of the Latino vote in the 2008 campaign. She has also worked as press secretary for several Democratic senators and politicians.

Morales Rocketto also has ties to the DNC, including the Hillary for America and Obama for America campaigns. She is both the voice and director of several progressive and feminist groups in the country.

After the millionaire investment announcement came to light, a strong concern arose within the Cuban-American community because one of the radio stations acquired by Latino Media Network, Radio Mambi, is a historic conservative station that has been dedicated to fight against socialist ideas; being a critical media of the communist regimes in the region.

Because of its conservative views, Mambi has also become a critical radio station of the most radical progressive faction of the Democratic Party, even making local politicians such as former Congresswoman Debbie Mucarsel-Powell or Representative Darren Soto feeling uncomfortable. As a result, prominent Cuban-American voices assured El American that Radio Mambi is in danger of being “silenced.”

An inside source at Radio Mambi, who had knowledge of the negotiations, revealed to El American that the Christian-conservative Salem Media Group was close to buying the 18 Hispanic stations for an offer of $46 million from the Televisa-Univision conglomerate. However, all of a sudden Latino Media Network came along with $14 million more and took the stations.

GOP figures vs. Soros and Democrats

Several Florida Republican politicians, such as Governor Ron DeSantis and Senator Marco Rubio, spoke out about the fall of Radio Mambi into the hands of Latino Media Network.

“The Soros-funded radical left is running a scheme to manipulate local media in Florida to push their Marxist agenda on voters,” Gov. DeSantis tweeted. “In Florida, we reject the professional left and their attempt to infiltrate our state and will always stand for truth and freedom.”

“A group led by left-wing operatives and funded by Soros-linked money is buying Hispanic radio stations because they still don’t realize that the reason they are bleeding Hispanic support is not ‘disinformation,’ it’s their socialism,” Marco Rubio wrote on Instagram.

Helen Aguirre-Ferré, executive director of the Republican Party of Florida, also commented on the purchase of Radio Mambi by the group partially financed by George Soros.

Miami’s Radio Mambi has always been a mainstay for conservative discussion in Miami. Efforts by the far left, funded by George Soros, to silence conservative voices confirm the importance of the struggle Hispanics are waging against Marxist ideology in Florida,” Aguire-Ferré said. “The hastily organized takeover of Radio Mambi sheds light on how far socialist interests will go to advance their agenda in the United States.”
