Jake Ellzey Ignored the Trafficking of Hispanic Women and Children at the US-Mexico Border

State Rep. Jake Ellzey is one of the 26 candidates on the ticket for Monday’s special election to the US House to represent Texas’ 6th Congressional District. There has been a lot of noise surrounding his candidacy, mostly due to a particular stance of his.

It is now common knowledge that with the surge of migrants coming to the United States, there has been an increase in the number of women and children trafficked. When Rep. Ellzey was faced with the option of embracing a 1.6 billion bill that would help stop this humanitarian crisis, he opposed it.

Each day, 600 unaccompanied minors are coming to the border because of irresponsible elected officials being soft on immigration and making open calls for open borders. According to an article by UNICEF, the most targeted demographic in the US for sex trafficking are Hispanic women and children.

Being soft on border security doesn’t make you a hero. It means you’re quiet about the suffering, exploitation, and slavery of Hispanic women and children. Not to mention, there is an increasing number of labor trafficking that is only getting worse with these failed open border policies.

If we want to make a change, it starts by electing leaders that will protect people. Not ones that will remain silent in the name of pandering and hoping to keep their seat. Hispanic Americans are now the largest voting minority in the country. We have a voice. It’s time we use it and stand up to those that would allow us to be exploited.
