Jan. 6 Committee Member Announces the Next Hearing Has Been Postponed

Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) made an announcement on Tuesday morning that has many of the Democratic Party faithful concerned about the prospects of the partisan January 6 committee’s proceedings. Watch:

“Congresswoman, I understand there is a bit of a change in the schedule pertaining to tomorrow’s hearing,” Mika Brzezinski said on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe.’ “Do you know anything about when it will be and what’s going on?”

“I think we’re just firming up,” Lofgren claimed. “There’s no a big deal, but I’ll tell you the putting together the video and exhibits is an exhausting exercise for our very small, you know, video staff.”

“So we’re trying to, you know, we are gonna have 1, 2, 3 in one week and it’s just, it’s too much for [the staff] to put it all together,” she went on. “So we’re trying to give them a little little room to do their their technical work is mainly at.”

The January 6 committee has been caught manipulating video (such as removing Donald Trump telling the January 6 crowd to ‘peacefully’ make their voices heard and avoiding showing Ray Epps in videos).

Even more concerning to anti-Trump contingent hoping for revenge against the former president is the committee chair’s admission that the panel likely won’t be making criminal referrals for Donald Trump or his associates.

“Our job is to look at the facts and circumstances around January 6 — what caused it — and make recommendations after that,” Chair Bennie Thompson told reporters after Monday’s hearing.

When confronted about the committee potentially recommending criminal charges against former President Donald Trump, Thompson replied: “We don’t have authority.”

But this is a much different story than Thompason earlier told the American people.

Thompson said in an NBC News article earlier this year that the evidence already points towards formally requesting the Justice Department launch criminal cases against Donald Trump and his supporters.

“The potential for criminal referrals is there,” he claimed.

In an election year when Americans are craving political leadership to solve serious problems, the Democratic Party is pulling out the stops to put on a made-for-TV show trial against a former president. The disconnect between Washington D.C. and the rest of America could not be more profound.
