According to reports, the son-in-law and daughter of former president Donald Trump have been subpoenaed in one of the federal criminal investigations involving the former leader.
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were subpoenaed by special counsel Jack Smith to appear before a federal grand jury on Trump’s attempts to retain power after the 2020 election, according to the New York Times.

According to the article, it was unclear whether Trump would attempt to prevent their testimony by asserting executive privilege. Both of them testified before the special House Select Committee on the January 6 violence, and Trump did not prevent them from doing so.
The report also says that Ivanka Trump stated in one video clip from the January 6 hearing that she “accepted” then-U.S. Attorney General William Barr’s assessment that there was not a significant amount of election fraud.
In his criminal investigations of the former president, Smith has also subpoenaed former Vice President Mike Pence and former National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien. As part of the investigations, the FBI and DOJ also taped a four-hour sworn interview with former acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf.

In addition to Wolf’s former deputy Ken Cuccinelli, former White House counsel Pat Cipollone and his assistant Patrick Philbin, former adviser Stephen Miller, and former White House aide John McEntee are among the high-ranking former Trump administration officials who have reportedly testified in the criminal investigations into Trump.
