Kamala Harris has a particular relationship with the U.S. Southern Border. Shortly after taking office, she denied the border security problem and even lied about visiting the site. Now, despite data to the contrary, the vice president assured that the Southern Border is “secure.” This was too much even for Democratic Senator Joe Manchin, who quickly responded.
In an interview with Fox News, the moderate senator from West Virginia assured Harris, “It’s wrong. She’s dead wrong on that.” At the same time, he reiterated the need to finish the border wall, one of the main initiatives of former President Donald Trump.
“I voted every time for the wall. But we need the wall and a lot more, technology, more agents. The 2013 immigration bill was still the best piece of legislation I think that we have ever had before us. We couldn’t get it passed through the Republican House at that time because of some politics involved there,” Manchin said.

Not content with this, he again dwelled on the wrongness of Kamala Harris’ statements about the border. “But, for anybody — the vice president, president, anybody — to say our borders are secured, that is not accurate. I have been there. It’s wrong,” he added.
Data disproves Harris and proves Manchin right
As Fox News recently reported, during fiscal year 2022, more than 500,000 illegal immigrants have escaped from border agents and made their way into the United States. Evidently, the Vice President’s definition of “secure” on the Southern Border appears to be somewhat inaccurate.
This figure eclipses the 389,155 leaks that Alejandro Mayorkas, Secretary of Homeland Security, testified for fiscal year 2021. “Hundreds of thousands crossing every month is not the definition of secure. They are liars and anyone who believes them are fools,” one agent told Fox News Digital.
