John Brennan is a man criticized for multiple reasons. For example, he was a faithful sponsor of the failed nuclear deal with Iran reached during the Obama Administration. In addition, he has been a constant critic of the Trump Administration’s foreign policy. At the same time, he was a voice promoting the false Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Brennan previously supported U.S. seeking not only improved relations with Iran, but also with Hezbollah – the criminal organization that has a large network of illicit business dealings globally and is allied with the Iranian regime.

In fact, the former CIA Chief went so far as to say in 2010 that “Hezbollah is an interesting organization,” because according to the agent the organization had evolved from a “purely terrorist organization” to a militia and then to a political party with representatives in Lebanon’s Parliament and Cabinet, according to a Reuters report.

But now John Brennan is not only dealing with national security, counter-terrorism issues, or foreign policy matters. He is also becoming emboldened to criticize conservative events such as the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and, in addition, touch on issues of race, to the point of stating that he is “increasingly ashamed” to be a white man.

On Monday, in an MSNBC chat show discussing CPAC and how the Capitol assault was interpreted in addition to the event’s focus on the “cancel culture,” Brennan said that “I’m more and more ashamed to be a white man these days with what I see other white men saying,” after host Nicolle Wallace criticized Republicans for claiming to be the party of “law and order” following the tragic events at the Capitol on January 6th.

Wallace emphasized, above all, the death of police officer Brian Sicknick and criticized Republicans for it.

Brennan took the opportunity to say that “with very few exceptions, like [Senator] Mitt Romney, [Congresswoman] Liz Cheney, [Congressman] Adam Kinzinger, there are very few Republicans in Congress who value truth, honesty and integrity.”

The former CIA Chief has been widely criticized for his political positions, which tend to be heavily biased to the Democrat side, but his main controversies transcend the political spectrum.

According to the New York Post, “Brennan, infamously defended the agency’s use of torture after a scathing Senate report showed that the practice did not produce valuable information and that the agency misled White House officials about it.” This occurred, specifically, in an interview with The New York Times.

The former CIA chief told the Times that the “enhanced interrogation techniques” “had value,” however, “you don’t know” whether useful information has been obtained.

But in addition to his Democratic tastes or his brand new white guilt, John Brennan had already shown his views on, for example, Donald Trump supporters and the January 6th revolt.

According to Brennan, Biden’s intelligence community “is moving like a laser to try to uncover everything they can about the pro-Trump “insurgency” that harbors religious extremists, authoritarians, Fascists, bigots, racists, nativists, even Libertarians.”

The former CIA chief mentioned these words in the context of the domestic terrorism bill pushed by most Democrats.

Tulsi Gabbard, a Democrat who differs from many of her own party’s positions, criticized Brennan’s words asking: “What characteristics are we looking for as we build this profile of potential extremist, what are we talking about? Religious extremists, we’re talking about Christians, evangelical Christians, what is a religious extremist? Is it someone who is pro-life? Where are you taking this?”

Gabbard said a possible profile of people this law would seek out would clearly be similar to the Republican voter or supporter, “you’d start looking and obviously it has to be a white person, probably male, libertarians, anybody who loves freedom; maybe has an American flag outside their house, or people who, you know, attended a Trump rally.”
