Authorities recovered a notebook in the Florida swamp where Brian Laundrie’s lifeless body was found, in which the young man confessed to murdering his girlfriend, influencer Gabby Petito.

According to an exclusive Fox News report, the FBI recovered the notebook belonging to Laundrie on October 20, 2021 in the swamp at Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park in North Port, Florida, where he took his own life after murdering the young influencer.

“I ended her life,” Laundrie wrote on one of the pages, explaining that Petito had suffered a fall in Wyoming that caused her great pain. “I thought it was merciful, that it is what she wanted, but I see now all the mistakes I made. I panicked. I was in shock.”

The killer wrote that from the moment he decided to “take away her pain,” he knew he would not be able to “go on without her.” That would have been the reason why Laundrie, days later, committed suicide in the park’s swamp.

“I have killed myself by this creek in the hopes that animals may tear me apart, that it may make some of her family happy”; Laundrie confessed in the note, which also asked those who found her remains to “pick up all of my things”; because “Gabby hated people who litter.”

Laundrie asked in his confession not to make things “harder”; for her family, to whom he apologized for causing them “shock” and “grief”: “They lost a son and a daughter. The most wonderful girl in the world.”

Attorneys for the Petito and Laundrie families met at the FBI’s Tampa office on Friday but declined to issue statements.

Gabby Petito was found dead on September 17, 2021, in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, while traveling by van across the United States with her boyfriend, Laundrie, with the intention of recording their nomadic living experience as they toured the parks of the American West.

On October 20, after nearly two months of intense searching, the FBI found Laundrie’s lifeless body.
