Controversial American lawyer Lin Wood will have to prove that he possesses the mental fitness necessary to keep his law license, following an order from the State Bar of Georgia. The institution has asked Wood to submit to a mental health evaluation, one of his representatives revealed to VICE News. If he fails to take the test -or flunks it- the lawyer will lose his credentials.

Wood, despite being a conservative, was not banned from Twitter for this particular reason (like so many others have) but for having promoted the same conspiracies promoted by psy-op QAnon. The lawyer revealed the start of this investigation into his mental health via his Telegram feed on Thursday night. In the face of this, all he did was insist that he has not gone insane.

In a lengthy message on his Telegram channel, the Trump lawyer questioned whether he was picking his battles well. “I try to live a principled life. There is no basis for the bar lawsuit.” He added that he doesn’t believe God has brought him so far to stop fighting now and insisted that he has no mental problems, that his mind is fine and that he hasn’t broken any rules. “I know he instilled in me a spirit of fear and I know I have never been an underdog.”

“To my supporters, I really care about you. I feel your pain. I saw this mess coming months ago. For the past few months, I have worked 20 hours a day. I speak the truth. The truth is I am tired,” Wood wrote.

“I asked what I had done wrong, I was only told it was about my comments on social media. My speech,” he continued.

The Bar ratified what Wood reported. “Our investigation process is confidential, but since Mr. Wood has made this matter public, we can confirm that the Bar is proceeding with an investigation pursuant to Bar Rule 4-104,” Sarah Cooper, chief operating officer of the State Bar of Georgia, told VICE.

According to this rule, “mental illness” or “substance abuse” will constitute sufficient grounds to remove an attorney from the practice of law.

“Upon a determination by the state Disciplinary Board that a lawyer may be impaired or incapacitated from the practice of law as a result of one of the conditions described in paragraph (a) above, the Board may, in its sole discretion, make a confidential referral of the matter to an appropriate medical or mental health professional for purposes of evaluation and possible referral to treatment and/or peer support groups,” it reads.

What Lin Wood said

Before being banned from social media, the attorney for Covington Catholic High School, Nick Sandmann, who faced Native Americans, rattled off a series of wild accusations such as that Jeffrey Epstein, the billionaire child molester, was still alive. He also claimed that SCOTUS president, John Roberts, was linked to Epstein, using manipulated photographs of the judge.

He claimed that former vice-president Mike Pence was “not a man of God” and had sexually abused children as young as 13, 14 and 15. “He has a special place waiting in hell,” he concluded.

The Georgia lawyer went so far as to claim that former vice-president Mike Pence would be shot.

“Pence will be in jail waiting trial for treason. He will face execution by firing squad. He is a coward and will sing like a bird and confess to ALL,” he wrote.

Wood assures he hasn’t gone insane and also plans to fight the Georgia Bar charges.
