The residence of British-American influencer Andrew Tate in Bucharest has had many high-end vehicles confiscated.
In connection with an inquiry into claims of human trafficking, Mr. Tate and his brother Tristan were detained last month. They both deny these charges.
According to Reuters, vehicles including a Rolls-Royce, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz were removed from the property on Saturday.
Prosecutors earlier this week told Reuters that in order to stop the suspects’ assets from being sold or hidden, they had confiscated 15 high-end cars, as well as more than ten residences and homes in Bucharest, the counties of Prahova, and Brasov.
Earlier last week, the four suspects appealed their 30-day arrest order, but the Bucharest court of appeals dismissed their petition and ruled that they should stay in police custody.
Tate, a former competitor on the British television series Big Brother, became well-known for his controversial outbursts.
All of the main social media networks banned him for his comments, but his Twitter account started working again in November after Elon Musk bought the service.
Tate has made several comments via Twitter since he was detained in Romania last month.
Police said that six persons had been “sexually abused” by what they called a “organized criminal cell” after the arrests on December 29.
The British citizens, who the police claimed misrepresented their desire to date the victims in what they dubbed “the loverboy approach,” allegedly “recruited” the victims.
A statement claimed that they were afterwards coerced into performing in pornographic material under the threat of assault.
Eugen Vidineac, the attorney for the Tates, stated that his clients denied all of the charges.
