Joe Biden faces a drop in his lead in the polls. However, he refuses to acknowledge this and this week claimed that most Democrats would vote for him if he were to run again, but the poll he referred to actually shows that 64% of Democratic Party members want a new presidential candidate.

“Sixty-four percent of Democratic voters say they would prefer a new standard-bearer in the 2024 presidential campaign, according to a New York Times/Siena College poll, as voters across the country have soured on his leadership, giving him a low job approval rating of 33 percent,” The New York Times reviewed.

It added, “Only 13 percent of American voters said the nation was on the right track — the lowest point in Times polling since the depths of the financial crisis more than a decade ago.”

Biden’s response

When questioned about the poll, Biden stated, “Read the polls. Read the polls, Jack. You guys are all the same. That poll showed that 92% of Democrats, if I ran, would vote for me,” he said.

Although the journalist insisted on explaining to Biden that the statement he was making about being the favorite to repeat as presidential candidate was not correct, the president maintained that the Democrats would support him if he decided to run.
