U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) on Thursday criticized a Disney statement in which the company calls for the repeal of the “Parental Rights in Education” Act, pushed and signed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

“The Walt Disney Co. filmed Mulan near Uighur genocide camps & then thanked the people who run those camps in the credits. But they are outraged that Florida schools will not be indoctrinating 5-year olds on ‘gender identity’,” Rubio wrote on Twitter while quoting the document issued by the company.

Rubio is not the only Republican to refer to Disney’s statement. Governor DeSantis assured that his administration will make decisions in favor of citizens and not based on what big companies decide. “We will never allow corporate influence to repeal the substantive rights of parents in our state,” DeSantis said during a press conference.

The law Disney is referring to

El American has reviewed the legislation and found no evidence the law is an attack on the LGBT community, as the progressive media claim. Instead, the law explicitly says it is an effort to give more weight to parents in the education of their children and to stop the sexualization of children in the classroom.

This is how the analyst of this media, Emmanuel Rondón, explains it, who comments that, according to the text of the legislation, “Florida school districts may not encourage classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in primary grade levels or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students.”
