Leer en Español

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene returned strong to Twitter this week and dedicated a few words to Hillary Clinton.

In a podcast clip, the recently re-elected Republican from Georgia spoke about the former Democratic candidate’s and her words that caused demonization of Republicans, specifically of Trump supporters: “And your truth had to be banned because your truth was the wrong truth, and this is how this all started. I’ll never forget when Hillary Clinton called everyone supporting Trump ‘deplorables.’

“Wasn’t that a nasty thing for her to do, to declare half of the country basically like we’re kind of subclass? That’s where all this started and how we got treated, and it should have never happened that way,” (…) “She should apologize. Hillary Clinton owes America an apology.”

Watch:

Clinton made the comments mentioned by MTG at a fundraiser in September 2016, when she stated, “You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables.” She then went on to call Trump supporters racist, sexist, homophobic among other slurs.

In a subsequent statement, Clinton apologized, saying “many of Trump’s supporters are hard-working Americans who just don’t feel like the economy or our political system are working for them.”
