Martha’s Vineyard Residents Panic After Arrival of Illegal Immigrants: ‘We Don’t Have Housing for 50 People’

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, sent a plane loaded with 50 illegal immigrants to the island of Martha’s Vineyard, located south of the Cape Cod peninsula in Massachusetts, and the Democratic authorities do not know what to do with the sudden influx of migrants, not at all comparable to the situation in the border cities.

Martha’s Vineyard homeless shelter coordinator Lisa Belcastro believes the influx of 50 migrants to the island, where woke personalities like the Obamas, Beyonce, and others have expensive properties, is a “challenge.”

When a reporter asked Belcastro about her plans for dealing with the 50 illegal immigrants, the coordinator said they “don’t have the services” and that the island already has a “housing crisis,” so they can’t house them.

“At some point, they (illegal immigrants) have to move from here to somewhere else,” Belcastro said to the press. “We don’t have the services to take care of 50 immigrants. And we certainly don’t have housing. We’re in a housing crisis as we are on this island. And we don’t, we can’t house everyone here that lives here and work here. We don’t have housing for 50 more people.”

The situation alone seems remarkable. While entire cities in Arizona and Texas face a crisis due to the unprecedented flow of illegal immigrants, and while President Biden sends secret flights to different states in the country to relocate illegal immigrants, Democratic governors who defend the federal government’s border policies are incapable of dealing with small numbers of migrants.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser declared an emergency to deal with hundreds of migrants sent by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, who in turn must deal with the arrival of tens of thousands of illegal migrants and is unable to control the influx because federal authorities prevent him from doing so.
