Neil Young announced that he will pull out of Spotify if they keep streaming America’s most popular podcast, “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
“I want you to let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform. They can have [Joe] Rogan or Young. Not both,” the veteran Canadian singer said in a letter sent to his management team and his record company (Warner) and picked up by Rolling Stone.
For the moment, both Young’s music and the podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience” are still available on the platform, including an episode of Rogan’s show in which he interviews Dr. Robert Malone.
Joe Rogan, who was signed exclusively by Spotify in 2020 for $100 million, has an audience of eleven million listeners per episode, with an average age of 24.
