Since the beginning of the pandemic, it is evident how politicians promoted health restrictions in addition to the pandemic, which were complied with by the common citizen but disrespected by the authorities themselves. The Democrats, in particular, were specialists in violating the measures they themselves imposed. The scandal of CA Gov. Gavin Newson, who organized a dinner in an enclosed space when it was forbidden, and Obama’s big party free of masks are proof of the hypocrisy with which the Democrats act. These days, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) had her turn to show that what they demand from the people is one thing and what they do is another. AOC went on vacation to Florida to enjoy the Sunshine State while New Yorkers are forced to wear masks and get vaccines.

Yes, AOC—the same person that has advocated for mandatory vaccinations and masks—went to Florida to spend her New Year’s Eve vacation in style. The congresswoman was captured in crowded bars hugging, dancing and enjoying the freedoms Florida has to offer, which has drawn criticism against her.

“AOC is STILL lounging it up in Florida, in large crowds and maskless. This time at a Drag Queen bar in Miami. Rules for thee but not for me,” denounced on Twitter conservative journalist Brendon Leslie of Florida’s Conservative Voice.

“For those of you with zero sense of humor: the whole point of this post is to expose hypocrisy. We don’t actually care she’s maskless. We care she fear mongers about Florida but then has the audacity to vacation here,” Brendon added in another tweet.

The video, circulated on Jan. 2, showing AOC in a fully stocked bar, was not the first criticism the congresswoman received about her Florida trip. On the last day of 2021, Ocasio-Cortez was captured with her boyfriend at a restaurant in the Sunshine State, prompting criticism from conservatives and even a jocular welcome from the social media team of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

“Welcome to Florida, AOC! We hope you’re enjoying a taste of freedom here in the Sunshine State thanks to @RonDeSantisFL’s leadership,” tweeted the Team DeSantis account. “P.S. We recommend the Rock Shrimp Roll and the Aoki Tai the next time you decide to dine in Miami. Cheers!”

Media outlets, such as the Daily Wire, reported that the Democrat went to Florida amid a surge in COVID-19 cases in New York.

AOC was not pleased with the conservatives’ criticism and responded by claiming that those criticizing her actually had “sexual frustrations” towards her.

She also responded to the Team DeSantis account aggressively, echoing allegations from the governor’s critics who accused DeSantis of “missing” while coronavirus cases are on the rise in the state.

“Hasn’t Gov. DeSantis been inexplicably missing for like 2 weeks? If he’s around, I would be happy to say hello. His social media team seems to have been posting old photos for weeks.,” the representative wrote.

In the midst of that tweet and the allegations against DeSantis, a Fox News report noted that the Republican governor was absent for several days due to accompanying his wife, Casey DeSantis, for her breast cancer treatment.

The Democratic congresswoman also received several criticisms for hostilely echoing the allegations against DeSantis.

“Ron DeSantis accompanied wife to cancer treatment while AOC and other critics suggested he was ‘missing’,” headlined the Post Millennial.

“AOC is a dirtbag. She hit Governor DeSantis for being “missing.” As it turns out, the governor was busy helping his wife through her cancer treatments. AOC should immediately apologize to the DeSantis family,” wrote one user on Twitter.
