Netflix has just released its remake of the legendary 1980s animated series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Now titled Masters of the Universe: Revelation, the series joins the long list of franchises destroyed for ideological reasons. In this case, forcing the feminist agenda.

Led by Kevin Smith, once considered the “King of the Nerds” and who fancied himself the scourge of Hollywood executives, this remake of He-Man is in keeping with the trend in the woke culture of deconstructing in Marxist terms any franchise that was successful in the past.

As happened in Mao’s Cultural Revolution, the old, the traditional, the classic, no longer has a place under the new ideology. And it is not enough to create new works in accordance with the current order of things, but it is also necessary to destroy everything that came before.

Behind the smiling mask of equality, inclusion and diversity, hide dangerous Marxist ideas that seek and succeed in dividing and confronting society, moving the original concept of class struggle into new fields such as, for example, confronting men and women through feminism.

This is evident in this remake of He-Man. It is not that now the female characters have more presence or more importance, it is that in the first chapter they kill He-Man!; in the second it is confirmed that the protagonist becomes a woman, Teela, with a haircut in the purest feminist style, like Megan Rapinoe‘s; and in the last chapter, in case the message was not clear, they kill the ghost of He-Man so that it does not occur to him to try to reincarnate again.

Just as they have done with Ghostbusters, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Marvel and so many others, many of the male characters that were the heroes for generations of children are now destroyed, humiliated and ridiculed.

They don’t even bother to disguise this political agenda a bit. Thus, for example, in the second chapter, the villain Evil-Lyn, who was Skeletor’s powerful sorceress and lieutenant, now reconverted into Teela’s ally, confesses to Teela that before Skeletor’s death — yes, they also kill Skeletor — because as she was in love with him, she could not develop her full potential as a villain.

It is seen that she was always in Skeletor’s shadow, alienated by his heteropatriarchal machismo, who only wanted her so that once he conquered Grayskull’s castle, she could wipe it down and scrub it. Fortunately, now that she’s no longer stuck on Skeletor’s bones and has discovered sorority and empowerment, she will be able to unleash her plans for universe domination.

Netflix blames He-Man fans for the failure of the series

The chutzpah in the manipulation of history is such that it is only comparable to that shown by Kevin Smith in his statements regarding the series, both during its production and after its premiere. When it was leaked that the remake would not be about He-Man, but about Teela, Kevin Smith denied it on Twitter — in messages that he has since deleted — and was lying to the truth.

Kevin Smith was once regarded as a Hollywood enfant terrible, boasting about standing up to executives and producers who sought to condition the creative freedom of filmmakers. Now he seems to align himself perfectly with the new guidelines and, just as these executives do when they are accused of putting political agenda before quality scripts, he blames bad reviews on what they call “toxic fans.”

Of course, the He-Man remake has dismal ratings from audiences on sites like Rotten Tomatoes and, as usual in these cases, those low numbers contrast with the excellent scores given by the specialized — and paid — critics. The usual response to excuse themselves is that those are coordinated campaigns of “haters”, which is exactly what Kevin Smith has said.

In a gross manipulation of language and reality, they call haters just those who really loved and loved the original characters, who cannot bear to see how they are now viciously humiliated, sacrificing them on the altar of feminism.

  1. I can’t agree with you more! We’ll said. Are men not even allowed to have one thing of their own these days? Can’t a man still be a hero and be counted on to save the world. Think about all the firefighters and police and sacrificed their lives in 911. I bet many of them were fans of the original He-Man. What do men have now to teach them to “men” and put others before your self? There’s no message out thier for them anymore other than “get out of the way.”
