The midterm elections are just around the corner and Republicans have one goal in mind: to take back the Senate and Congress. To do so, they will have to flip seats from blue to red, and one of the candidates who could do so is in South Texas: Cassy Garcia, running for the 28th congressional district of the Lone Star state and has just received great news for her candidacy: the endorsement of Nikki Haley.

The former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and former governor of South Carolina announced exclusively with El American that she will endorse Cassy Garcia, who faces Democratic Representative Henry Cuéllar for the congressional seat.

“Cassy Garcia is Texas tough and she’s not afraid to punch back on Biden’s reckless agenda that has devastated the Lone Star State,” said Nikki Haley, in a statement sent to El American. “She’s pro-farmer, pro-small business, and pro-border security. South Texas needs a new voice in Congress and they have no stronger fighter than Cassy Garcia.”

Haley’s high-caliber endorsement of García —to be made official in the coming hours— comes a week after the former ambassador endorsed fellow Hispanic Republican candidates Mayra Flores and Mónica De La Cruz at an event in McAllen, South Texas.

“I’m proud to have former Ambassador Haley’s support in my race to unseat a liberal incumbent, whose first vote if elected, as he has said, will be for Nancy Pelosi and her radical agenda,” said Cassy Garcia, in a statement to El American. “The movement in South Texas is real, and it’s happening. We’re going to flip this seat red for the first time in 100 years, and elect the first Latina, while we’re at it!”.

Flores, De La Cruz, and García are the three Latina GOP candidates in South Texas who are hoping to bring a “red wave” to the polls in the upcoming November election. In fact, Rep. Flores already made history last June, winning the special election to represent the historically Democratic-dominated 34th District in the Rio Grande Valley.

The emergence of these conservative Latina candidates is a true sign of the political-electoral change that is taking place in the Hispanic demographic, which is increasingly closer to the GOP and further away from the Democratic Party.

In fact, recent studies, such as the one conducted by the organization Bienvenido and WPA Intelligence, show that Republicans will have the highest support among Latino voters in the last 28 years. This is encouraging for Republican candidates in South Texas.

The former ambassador’s political action committee, ‘Stand for America PAC’, has been working tirelessly to support conservative candidates for the upcoming November elections.

This PAC, as its website reads, supports candidates who are pro-liberty, pro-opportunity, pro-rule of law, pro-religious freedom, pro-free speech, pro-life, and pro-strong national defense.

According to her data, Nikki Haley has endorsed more than 60 conservative Republicans in the current election cycle, in addition to holding more than 60 events for candidates, committees, and state parties and helping to raise more than $6 million for conservative candidates across the country.
