A protest of migrants at the San Ysidro border crossing in Tijuana took place on Tuesday. Attired with T-shirts and banners that read “Biden, please let us in!,” the migrants asked President Joe Biden to allow them to enter the country.

In response to the demonstration, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents set up a heavy operation at the entrance to the San Ysidro border crossing to prevent the migrants from illegally entering the United States. At one point, some of them knelt down and began to pray.

The protesters remain at the border and assured that they will not leave until they are attended to, as they await the new U.S. immigration program.

For now, only migrants with an active application under the defunct Migrant Protection Program (MPP) are allowed to enter. A few weeks ago, the Biden administration opened the border to asylum seekers. However, only those who are contacted are allowed to enter.
