A border official warned on Tuesday that more than one million migrants could arrive at the border during 2021. Raul Ortiz, deputy chief of the Texas border, indicated that border patrols are preparing for this migratory flow. During a meeting with the media, reported by Fox News, he said that it would be an increase in the escalation of the crisis under the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris administration.

The United States has been facing an unprecedented immigration crisis for several weeks, which has generated criticism towards the Biden-Harris administration, mainly due to the conditions in which the children are being held. Republican Senators such as Ted Cruz have described the situation as a humanitarian crisis.

Faced with the situation, Biden charged Harris with the mission of curbing irregular migration. “When she speaks, she will speak for me and she doesn’t have to consult with me first,” he said.

Since assuming the executive branch, Biden and Harris have focused on changing the immigration policies of their predecessor, Donald Trump, despite the fact that border officials have warned about the consequences of these modifications.

This week, Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne (R-TX) stated that the Democratic administration had been alerted by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials. The congresswoman agreed with Ted Cruz that a humanitarian crisis is being generated due to the immigration policies that have been adopted.

We’re seeing a tremendous humanity crisis down here. You’ve got people who are in a facility right now, the majority of them who are unaccompanied minors, in a facility that was built to house no more than 250 people. It currently has 5,700 people in it.

During February, the Border Patrol detained an average of 5,000 migrants crossing the border irregularly from Mexico every day. This was stated by a CBP official.

In a teleconference, reported by EFE, the CBP official indicated that of those 5,000 daily arrests, more than 500 correspond to undocumented minors crossing the border without the company of a parent or legal guardian.
