Mike Pompeo, former Secretary of State, referred on Tuesday to John Kerry’s relationship with Iran and to the leaked audios in which it is said that he had passed intelligence information to a former Iranian minister. Pompeo demanded Kerry to explain to the Americans “why he disclosed information about Israeli operation to Iranian FM.”
He maintained that “we’ve known for years that you were helping them. Americans deserve to know why.
This Monday it became known that the former Obama Secretary of State John Kerry allegedly leaked information to Iran about 200 Israeli operations in Syria.
Pompeo slammed John Kerry for telling Iran covert information about Israel
In the audio that was revealed, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif claimed that during the Obama Administration, Kerry provided them with information on Israeli military movements despite the fact that Israel is one of the main allies of the United States.
In the leaked audio to which different media outlets had access, the Iranian minister also spoke about the limitations of his power compared to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and referred to the attack that the Trump administration propelled against General Qasem Soleimani.
“It was former U.S. Foreign Secretary John Kerry who told me that Israel had launched more than 200 strikes against Iranian forces in Syria,” Javad Zarif noted in the audio.
