Russian leader Vladimir Putin said Wednesday that the West cannot offer the world its model of the future and that a new world order, which according to him will be “fairer,” is being created after invading Ukraine.

“The West cannot offer the world its model of the future. Both locally and globally the foundations and principles of a harmonious and fairer, socially oriented and secure world order, an alternative to the existing one, are being laid,” Putin said while speaking at a forum in Moscow.

This new world order, according to Putin, comes to replace the unipolar world which he considers “by its nature, it slows down the development of civilization.”

According to the head of the Kremlin, the elites of the Western world “panic” that other centers of world development will present their vision of the future.

“No matter how hard the Western and so-called supranational elites try to preserve the existing order of things, a new era, a new stage in world history is approaching. Only truly sovereign states can guarantee a high-growth dynamic,” he stressed.
