The pollster Rasmussen Reports revealed new figures on President Biden’s popularity. Several figures can be found in the survey, among which the increase in Americans’ strong disapproval of the Democrat stands out.
Thirty-nine percent of Americans indicate that they strongly disapprove of Biden, and while the numbers have fluctuated considerably since he took office, more still disapprove of the head of state than the 30 percent who strongly approve. Rasmussen shows in its charts that the approval rating is -9 for Biden.
To put those numbers more in perspective, in other research recently conducted by Rasmussen, only 38% of Americans believe the country is going in the right direction. That is, more strongly disapprove of Biden than believe the country is on the right track – under his presidency.
In the popularity poll, Rasmussen compares the popularity of the Democrat and former President Trump on the same date, four years apart. By June 18, 2017, Trump had a 50% approval rating – with the strong opposition the Republican faced from the mainstream media – while Biden has 51% by June 18, 2021.
However, RealClearPolitics compiled the results of research conducted by other major pollsters whose numbers range from 40 % to 60 %. For example, Reuters/Ipsos places his approval slightly higher, at 52 %; Economist/YouGov indicates 48 %; Monmouth at 49 %; GU Politics/Battleground at 52 %; Politico/Morning Consult places Biden higher at 53 %; while The Hill/Harris X exceeds all of them and places the Democrat at 61 % approval.
