The Biden-Harris administration is already losing control of the immigration issue to the point that authorities in Texas have reportedly released 100 undocumented migrants who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
Texas Governor Greg Abbott accused the Biden-Harris administration of “recklessly releasing hundreds of illegal immigrants who have COVID into Texas communities.”
Abbott made the comments after Biden accused him of “Neanderthal thinking” following the governor’s decision to reverse all coronavirus restrictions, including mandatory mask orders beginning March 10.
Richard Hudson (R-NC), in a letter to North Carolina Democratic Governor Roy Cooper, said, “To protect the safety of our constituents and uphold the rule of law, I am asking you to use all available resources to detain these individuals, quarantine them, and get them the medical care they may need,” due to reports that those released were planning to travel to the state.
According to Fox News, White House sources said they are aware of the positive cases and have been asked to “quarantine” them.
For its part, the city of Brownsville told NBC News that it is advising migrants who test positive to turn to non-profit organizations in the area for help in finding shelter and places where they can isolate themselves from others. The positivity rate in the county is estimated to be 13.8%.
Governor Abbott’s complaint is joined by the position of residents in Brownsville, Texas, who claim that the Democratic administration abandoned American residents.
“It’s really embarrassing, to be honest with you. And it’s really shameful that Joe Biden’s administration, currently, is not doing anything for the local residents of the city of Brownsville,” Luis Cavazos denounced to Fox News.
Republicans say Biden’s migration policies are ‘immoral’
The Republican Party called Biden’s immigration agenda “radical” and “immoral,” which is why they are now seeking to reverse these border measures.
“President Biden made it his mission to reshape our nation’s immigration system into one that focused on appeasing the political aspirations of the far left instead of prioritizing American citizens,” the Republican Study Committee memo states.
The document points to the crisis at the border, which has seen a dramatic increase in migrants in recent weeks, prompting the administration to create multiple migrant facilities in Texas for both families and unaccompanied minors.
Republican lawmakers say “total” removal of Trump’s policies in the midst of a pandemic and border surge “will only further destabilize an already tumultuous situation that needs to be addressed with care and consideration, rather than maddening bouts of executive action.”
“Weakening our borders is not good policy”
America’s main enemies will use Biden’s immigration overture as a tool to destabilize the country, warned Joseph Humire, a global security expert specializing in transnational threats in the Western Hemisphere.
In an exclusive interview for El American, Humire pointed out that regimes such as Russia, China, Iran and Venezuela could take advantage of the Democratic administration’s new immigration policies to weaken the United States.
“Biden may say he wants to relax migration with the southern border with Mexico, but he’s not thinking that there are forces from South and Central America that could take advantage of the situation to destabilize our border,” Humire said.
“If we are talking about China, Russia and Iran being a threat, then weakening our borders is not a good policy,” the global security specialist reiterated.
