As Ukrainians fight for their freedom against Russian invaders, the U.S. is fighting its own internal battles. Clearly, the conflict unleashed by Putin has driven up the price of fuel globally, however, it is far from the main reason why our lives have become so drastically more expensive in the last year.
Since Biden took office, he said he would take care of the virus, not the economy, but his measures (far from containing the pandemic), have destroyed what he swore to protect. Excessive government spending, stimulus checks, incessant restrictions against the virus, in addition to executive orders to shut down American pipelines created inflation and an economic crisis that is now being paid for by all Americans.
With little shame after wiping out millions of jobs and beginning to lift the restrictions they themselves had pushed for (recovering the jobs that had previously been lost) Democrats began to propagandize that they had created more jobs than any other administration.
Today we continue in this war of lies, and even a Bloomberg op-ed dared to “recommend” to Americans that to resist inflation they should substitute lentils for meat and take the bus instead of using their cars. Instead of holding the federal government responsible for their tragic economic measures, the mainstream media seeks to excuse it with measures that are humiliating for our society.
While all this is going on, a good bulk of the Democratic Party and Biden himself continue to vociferate that the rich should pay more. If they insist that millionaires should pay their fair share, why doesn’t the richest government in the world start paying its fair share by making an across-the-board 10% tax cut to pay citizens back for the funds subtracted through inflation? Then they could lead by example and their arguments, maybe, just maybe, would sound a little more convincing and less hypocritical.
