A reporter for The Epoch Times, Hong Kong edition, was ambushed by an unknown man carrying an aluminum bat.

It is understood that this attack was perpetrated by agents of the Communist Party of China to intimidate dissidents who report on the regime of Xi Jinping.

“Sarah Liang,” they report from The Epoch Times, “was outside her residential building when the midday attack occurred.” They report that the unnamed assailant hit her with the bat more than 10 times before fleeing in a car, causing Liang several severe bruises on both legs.

However, this was not the first attack Liang has suffered; in fact, this same attack was attempted last week. Liang commented that the attack was premeditated, in her view, since on May 8 a man suddenly charged at her, but was unable to carry out the attack because the bat he was carrying fell off during the attack on the reporter.

June Guo, editor of the Hong Kong version of The Epoch Times said that this attack on Liang is undoubtedly orchestrated by the Communist Party of China.

Liang adds that the attacker is linked to the Communist Party of China —hence to the regime— and that the aim is to intimidate her in an attempt to silence her. Last month, Liang said she was targeted in two other similar situations.

On April 26, an unknown man harassed her outside a subway station. But just two days earlier, another unknown man entered her building and knocked on her door. Liang refused to open.

Nor have the facilities of The Epoch Times escaped such attacks and sieges. The printing plant in Hong Kong was attacked by unidentified hammer-wielding individuals on April 12.

The newspaper has also suffered a series of other attacks in the past, including the burning of its printing plant in Hong Kong.

The Epoch Times has become one of the most important anti-Beijing publications, reporting on corruption, political infighting and human rights abuses within the communist regime.
