The border crisis in the United States is intensifying to the point that there are already allegations of irregularities committed by authorities regarding hundreds of children overcrowded in care centers established by Joe Biden’s administration.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott demanded that the President respond to allegations of abuse and neglect under the watch of his administration in the closure of the Freeman Expo Center.

The number of migrant children detained at the facility nearly tripled in less than two weeks, a situation that Abbott said is only getting worse.

The governor announced that his administration has received complaints that include allegations of sexual assault, staffing shortages, and that children at the facility are not eating throughout the day.

The complaints also allege that children who have tested positive for COVID-19 are not being physically separated from those who have not been infected.

Border crisis: Biden did not plan for the consequences of his policy decisions

Abbott blamed Biden for the “deplorable conditions” and claims it is “a direct result of the refusal to secure the border.” He said the administration failed to plan for the consequences of its “open borders” policies.

“The Biden administration opened the borders and failed to plan for the influx of unaccompanied children crossing the border, and now we are facing our worst fears with allegations of child abuse and neglect,” the governor said.

“President Biden’s disastrous decisions caused this crisis, and his administration must act now to protect these children, secure the border and put an end to this crisis,” Greg Abbott said.

“I am calling on the Biden administration to close this facility, and I am directing the Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers to immediately begin investigating these allegations,” he said.

“President Biden’s disastrous decisions caused this crisis, and his administration must act now to protect these children, secure the border and put an end to this crisis,” he said.

According to local news portal KSAT, on March 29, 500 male children between the ages of 13 and 17 were taken to the Freeman Expo Center; a number that by Monday, April 5, had skyrocketed to 1,370.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officials estimate that more than 184,000 migrant children could cross the border this 2021.

“Right now we are facing a humanitarian crisis,” denounced Texas Democratic Rep. Henry Cuellar.

The increase in the number of children arriving abandoned at the border has been described as “alarming,” to the point where authorities claim that between 250 and 300 unaccompanied children cross daily.

Lack of bed space in facilities overseen by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has led to a record backlog of unaccompanied children stranded in Border Patrol facilities, which are not suitable for housing minors for extended periods of time.
