On Thursday morning, a terrorist attack happened outside the Kabul airport. In fact, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby confirmed that Americans and civilians were among the victims in two explosions in the Kabul attack.

In view of the situation, several members of the Republican Party blamed President Joe Biden for the situation. They claim that the attack occurred due to the measures taken by his administration in the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.

In fact, Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) assured that “Biden has blood on his hands”. Likewise, she argued that the Democratic president is unfit to lead the White House.

“This horrific national security and humanitarian disaster is solely the result of Joe Biden’s weak and incompetent leadership. He is unfit to be Commander-in-Chief,” Stefanik wrote on Twitter.

The Kabul attack and its possible consequences

Likewise, Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Georgia Congressman Jody Hice agreed that the situation could worsen in the following hours. They warned that terrorist groups would be planning new attacks.

“Biden policies in Afghanistan are now attacking American troops via terrorist bombs. Hostage situation is about to begin,” Hice said.

For his part, Senator Lindsey Graham also rejected the attack and called on the Biden Administration to take measures to protect the Americans who remain in Afghanistan. He argued that the U.S. presence in the territory must be reestablished and stressed that it can be done because the country has the capability.

“I urge the Biden administration to reestablish our presence in Bagram as an alternative to the Kabul airport so that we do not leave our fellow citizens and thousands of Afghan allies behind. It is not a capability problem, but a problem of will,” Graham also noted on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Senator Ted Cruz called the American soldiers in Afghanistan heroes. He also asked all Americans to pray for them: “Today’s terrorist attacks in Afghanistan are abhorrent and I condemn them in the strongest possible terms. Our troops in Afghanistan are heroes, to whom we owe an immeasurable debt.”

Also former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, referring to the situation, noted that the U.S. must do whatever it takes to protect American troops and citizens.

“Praying for the three American Marines and the innocent civilians wounded today in the terrorist attacks near Kabul airport,” Pence said.
