Popular California bar and restaurant Tin Horn Flats is refusing to close after the Burbank City Council revoked its permit for disobeying Los Angeles County’s outdoor dining ban.

The state Health Department issued at least 38 citations against the venue between Dec. 10, 2020, and Feb. 9, 2021, in addition, it received a cease-and-desist order from the county on Jan. 12th, while in December alone, the restaurant received 124 complaints against it for offering outdoor dining.

On Jan. 27th, the California restaurant was sued for violating emergency health orders and county codes, and acting as a public nuisance, the Daily Caller states.

Baret Lepejian, owner, and his family have openly opposed county-led public health lockdowns during the pandemic. He has held dinners at the venue, mostly outdoors, though social media has also shown some indoor bar seating at times in direct opposition to county mandates.

Closing order

According to a Monday, Feb. 22nd, vote at the Burbank City Council, the business, located at 2628 W. Magnolia Blvd, must close.

After learning of the measure, the owner posted on his social media channels a thank you to his diners and rejected the closure, warning that he will keep the restaurant open.

“This was nothing less than a vicious mob with pitchforks coming for those who oppose their fear campaign,” reads the publication. “I will not comply and I will not close my business to these pathetic, un-American socialist cowards. If need be, I will go down with my ship.”
