Florida Governor Ron DeSantis referred on Wednesday to the interview he gave on CBS, which was deceptively edited.

He argued the channel and the program 60 Minutes attempted to deceive their viewers over the crouse of the interview. He also said that CBS is known for lying about its political opponents. He maintained that the interview was edited with the intention of misleading citizens.

“CBS and 60 Minutes have a playbook: lie with impunity, smear their political opponents and deceptively edit out facts that eviscerate their bogus, partisan narratives,” he wrote on Twitter.

The governor made the comment to respond to a tweet from the Daily Caller that shows the complete statements. There, the Republican governor explains the steps that were fulfilled for his administration to work hand in hand with Publix in the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines.

During an interview with anchor Sharyn Alfonsi, the journalist insinuated that Publix had committed to invest in the DeSantis campaign in exchange for being the company in charge of distributing the doses of the drug. Meanwhile, the company rejected Alfonsi’s comments and assured that they were false.

Publix stated in a release that “The irresponsible suggestion that there was a connection between campaign contributions made to Governor DeSantis and our willingness to join with other pharmacies in support of the state’s vaccine distribution efforts is absolutely false and offensive.”

In the face of criticism from citizens and several journalists, CBS reaffirmed the interview and maintained that it conducted investigative work for its production. “We solicited and conducted interviews with dozens of sources and authorities involved. Our story Sunday night speaks for itself,” a spokesperson whose identity was not disclosed told Fox News.
