Ron DeSantis Would Defeat Biden and Trump in Next Election

Leer en Español

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is leading in the polls and this Tuesday it was revealed that he would win the election not only against Joe Biden, but also the primary against former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election race.

31% of Republicans, voters or supporters polled by USA Today agree with Trump’s run for the Republican nomination in 2024 but 61% would prefer another candidate to take the nomination. However, most believe the Republican nominee should continue Trump’s policies.

The favorite of the other potential Republican candidates is DeSantis, who leads Trump with 56% to 33% support, 23 points ahead.

DeSantis v. Biden

Should he face Biden, who has not yet announced whether or not he will seek re-election, DeSantis leads him with 47% of the vote for the 2024 election.

“Republicans and independent conservatives increasingly want Trumpism without Trump,” David Paleologos, director of the Suffolk University Center for Policy Research, said in remarks published by USA Today.

The survey was conducted last week with two samples: one of 1,000 registered voters by telephone, cell phone and landline, with a 3.1-point margin of error, and another of 374 Republican or conservative-minded independent voters, with a 5.1-point margin of error.
