This Friday morning, the co-founder of the Ethereum cryptocurrency and Bitcoin Magazine, Russian programmer Vitálik Buterin, called on the Kremlin not to attack Ukraine, and warned that such an event would have consequences for “humanity.”

“An attack on Ukraine can only harm Russia, Ukraine and humanity,” Buterin noted on his Twitter account, adding that the decision to continue a peaceful path or go to war is not up to Ukraine’s President Volodymir Zelensky or NATO, but exclusively to the Kremlin.

“I hope they choose wisely,” the programmer concluded.

The Kremlin, in full escalation

This comes a day after Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba accused Russia of blocking his country’s access to the two southern seas with military armies.

Moscow, for its part, started massive military exercises together with Belarus, a country bordering Ukraine, and announced naval exercises next week.

Meanwhile, the United States asked Americans in Ukraine to leave the country given the increased threats of Russian military action in that country.
