DeSantis informed of his “beloved” wife’s cancer diagnosis in a statement released Monday.

Casey DeSantis, 41, whose last child, a girl, is just 18 months old, is not only the “centerpiece” of his family, but has made an impact on “the lives of countless Floridians through her initiatives as First Lady,” the official statement said.

“As she faces the most difficult test of her life, she will have not only have my unwavering support but the support of our entire family, as well as the prayers and well wishes from Floridians across our state. Casey is a true fighter, and she will never, never, never give up,” the governor said.

Before becoming first lady, Casey DeSantis, who married the current governor in 2010, was a journalist and television host and excelled in equestrian sports while in college.

The DeSantis couple has three children: a boy, Mason, and two girls, Madison and Mamie. All are under the age of five.
