The raid conducted by the FBI on Donald Trump’s residence left no one immune. The news was covered by practically everyone and Ben Shapiro was no exception. The lecturer was shocked by the fact and assured that “if the evidence is not rock solid”, the event could trigger a “crisis in the American government.”

The popular conservative commentator was enjoying a week’s vacation in Israel, according to him, the first break he has taken in 5 years, when the news broke that forced him to abandon his free time.

Ben Shapiro blasted the FBI for the break-in

Shapiro began by quoting The New York Times about the case against the former president, according to which “Mr. Trump delayed returning 15 boxes of material requested by officials with the National Archives for many months, only doing so when they became a threat of action to retrieve them.”

He then took aim at the FBI, predicting that there will be “hell to pay” if there is no concrete evidence of a felony.

“If you’re going to do something like this, there had damn well better be a crime. The crime can’t be something like, ‘The President of the United States, when he left office, he brought with him stuff.’ It’s got to be more than that. It can’t be something like, ‘The National Archives, is just mad that they don’t have a full record of everything that went on,’” said the host of The Ben Shapiro Show.

In addition, Shapiro indicated that he believes the accusation is worthy of a “banana republic” and that it seems more like an attempt to get Donald Trump out of the 2024 presidential race.

“The FBI is not trusted by many, many Americans. A majority of republicans and independents do not trust the FBI, according to polling data. What the FBI just did requires extraordinary institutional trust,” Shapiro argued.

Shapiro also discussed the FBI’s role in recent years, particularly with the Russia investigation, which ended up undermining people’s confidence in the agency.

“Let’s just color me skeptical, because I waited for the evidence for years and years. Every five minutes, breaking news alert on CNN. Russia, Russia, Russia … And it turns out to be nothing. It turns out to be a waste of tens of millions of taxpayer dollars. It turns out to be a waste of all of our time. It turns out to be a deliberate attempt by some people who hate Donald Trump to undermine his presidency,” the author of The Right Side of History concluded.
