SENATOR Mike Lee (R-UT) spoke out on Monday against the FBI’s raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home. The Republican posted on Twitter 12 questions about the procedure and assured that it is necessary for the authorities to respond to those considerations.
Lee’s first question was whether the search warrant was personally signed by Attorney General Garland. He also questioned whether, according to Donald Trump’s own allegations, the FBI first seized the former president’s safe and then sought a warrant to justify the action.
As a lawyer, former federal prosecutor, and current member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, I have a few questions about the FBI’s raid of Mar a Lago. First, did Attorney General Garland personally sign off on this action?

Lee also considered that this could be a political move and the federal agency is being used for it: “Shouldn’t this incident cause all Americans to be even more outraged by the Democrats’ plan to hire an additional 87,000 agents?”
Likewise, he explained that this measure is taken despite the fact that there are other important facts that the investigative agency has not addressed. He made reference to cases involving Hunter Biden or the threats to Supreme Court Justices.
“Shouldn’t all Americans be suspicious of the FBI based on its use of warrantless “backdoor searches” under Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (about which Christopher Wray expressed very little concern when I questioned him at last week’s hearing)?” Lee finished.
The Salt Lake Tribune explained that the senator’s personal Facebook page linked a Twitter thread from a Twitter account called “Based Mike Lee,” which was created in July. A source close to Lee told the news outlet that “the account is Lee’s personal Twitter which he manages by himself.”
