Texas School Shooting Leaves 14 Children, 1 Teacher Dead

This Wednesday a shooting was reported at an elementary school in the town of Uvalde (Texas). The information was confirmed by the governor of the state Greg Abbott.

The Texas governor explained during a press conference that the assailant was identified as Salvador Romas, 18 years old, and was killed during the shooting. According to authorities, he entered Robb Elementary School with a handgun and possibly a rifle.

Biden talks with Texas Governor

Greg Abbott detailed that according to the police report 14 students and one teacher were reported dead.

The governor indicated that the police authorities are conducting the corresponding investigations.

White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre commented on the incident and assured that the administration will report on the progress of the case.

White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield also reported that President Joe Biden reached out to the Texas governor to make joint decisions on the situation. “President Biden just spoke with Governor Abbott to offer any and all assistance he needs in the wake of the horrific shooting in Uvalde, TX,” Bedingfield wrote on Twitter.
