Sorry, my mistake: FARC “dissidents”.
This is just another piece of evidence in a long list of evidence of the failure of the Peace Accord in Colombia. The alleged “dissidents”, to which a good number of members of the “old” FARC belong, continue to apply the same strategies and commit the same crimes as their alleged predecessors.
In turn, the revelation of the video comes shortly after Petro’s defense minister, Ivan Velasquez, announced a ban on the bombing of camps with minors, which will evidently increase the number of underage recruits into the ranks of the FARC and ELN.
This is not the only problem. Between 2017 and 2020, more than 400 forced recruitments of minors were registered: 178 from the ELN, 165 from the FARC, and 174 from the Clan del Golfo, while in 2022 only 85 children have been rescued from the clutches of these organizations.
The Peace Accord promised lasting peace and the demobilization of the FARC. So far, it has not delivered, nor does it appear to be able to either.
