The Mandalorian is the flagship of Disney+, a service that has just arrived in Latin America. Its second season premiered at the end of October and after just a few episodes it has already generated controversy among the left, which, in its usual line, is demanding its cancellation in Twitter and other media.
The Mandalorian contains a political and economic subtext with conservative and libertarian values. It is not surprising, therefore, that it is being attacked by progressives. In this article, we will try to expose the contradictions and inconsistencies of such attacks.
Feminists attack Gina Carano, co-star of The Mandalorian
Gina Carano plays Cara Dune, a brave former rebel soldier turned mercenary who accompanies the protagonist in his adventures through the galaxy.
Using progressive language, both her character and her person represent the ideal of an “empowered intersectional feminist.”
The actress was born in Texas in 1982, of Italian, English, Scottish, German, Dutch and Mohawk descent. She has a degree in psychology from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.
There she led the women’s basketball team to the state title. She played softball and volleyball. She was considered the third best MMA fighter in the world and made the jump to television as a gladiator in American Gladiators.
Before co-starring in The Mandalorian, she participated in the action movies Haywire, Fast & Furious 6 and Deadpool, among others. In 2012 ActionFest awarded her the “Chuck Norris Award” for Best Female Action Star of the Year. In 2013 she was nominated for the Film Critics’ Awards for Best Action Actress.
In 2008 she was ranked five of the ten most influential women on the Yahoo! list. She was number 16 on the Maxim list in 2009 and shared the cover of ESPN Body magazine with Serena Williams.
But all this doesn’t seem to be enough to deserve the “sorority” of feminists. What’s more, they hate her so much that they are asking for her expulsion from the series. The reason? She criticizes the Democratic Party a bit on her Twitter.
Gina joins the long list of successful women vilified by progressives such as Margaret Thatcher, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Oriana Fallaci, and Candace Owens, who are not considered true women because they do not subscribe to the unique thinking of feminism.
Progressives attack “Baby Yoda”, emblem of The Mandalorian
Baby Yoda conquered all Star Wars fans from the first chapter with his adorable little eyes and the fuzz on his head. However, the angry mob on Twitter is now calling for his cancellation.
In the second episode of the new season, Mando is charged with transporting an alien and her precious cargo to a distant planet. She is a still unnamed humanoid amphibian female, known as “Lady Frog. She is the last of her species and keeps a basket of unfertilized eggs that, if she manages to reach the planet where her annual husband is waiting for her, she will be able to fertilize to continue their lineage.
Throughout the series, Baby Yoda has shown his gluttony, eating all kinds of galactic animals. But the fact that he has eaten a few eggs from this basket has been too much for the delicate hearts of the snowflakes. To the cry of genocide, millions of vegan souls seem to have felt a great disturbance in the Force and are crying out to get Baby Yoda off the screens.
It is somewhat contradictory to observe such leftist compassion for the unfertilized eggs of an imaginary species from a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away and so unappreciative of the 200,000 daily abortions in the world here and now.
