The Moment John Fetterman Pistol-Whipped an Innocent African-American Man

John Fetterman is wrong for Pennsylvania

The Senate race in Pennsylvania is hotter than ever. The current context shows a Mehmet Oz slowly closing in the polls and a John Fetterman determined to escape the debates, something that seems to be a habit among certain Democrats in key states.

With all this seasoning, a super PAC decided it was a good time to remind voters when the Democrat chased an unarmed black man with a shotgun.

The TV ad was produced by American Leadership Action and recalls a controversial episode that Fetterman himself starred in 2013, when he wore a bushier beard.

At that time, according to The New York Times, the then mayor of Braddock heard a series of gunshots near his home and spotted an African-American man jogging a few meters away.

He immediately associated him with the incident, got into his truck, and did not hesitate to chase him. Once he caught up with him, he pointed a shotgun at him and held him there until the police arrived on the scene. Once the authorities arrived, they found that the person in question was Christopher Miyares, a 28-year-old man who had simply been out jogging with headphones.

Of course, they found that he did not have a weapon and let him go immediately. According to the police report, “Fetterman continued to yell and state that he knows this male was shooting,.”

“Mr. Miyares told the TV station in 2013 that Mr. Fetterman had pointed the gun at his chest; the mayor denied doing so. Mr. Miyares said the incident unnerved him, and he maintained that what Mr. Fetterman took to be gunshots were bottle rockets set off by a group of kids. Mr. Fetterman said no traces of fireworks were found in the area,” The New York Times added about the incident.

Ben Shapiro recently recalled this episode and ironized, “Well, you know, if you’re a Democrat and you hear shots and see a black man running, grab your gun!”

John Fetterman’s hypocrisy on gun control

Just as in 2013 the Democrat had a shotgun in case he needed to defend himself or his family, he favors strict regulations on carrying guns.

“We need universal background checks, red flag laws, and more proactive efforts to get illegal guns off our streets. This is personal for me, and every time we delay real action, we’re only counting down the hours until the next tragedy. Enough,” can be read on his website.

If that wasn’t enough, he supported eliminating the filibuster to pass federal gun control laws, anti-Second Amendment. “Democrats need to be ruthless + united NOW. Scrap the filibuster + pass common sense gun control supported by the majority of Americans,” he tweeted in late May.

Racist comment about ID when voting

In December 2021, Fetterman talked with Brian Tyler Cohen and walked the ledge with a quote about people of color.

When asked about legislation to pass so-called “voter ID” in Pennsylvania, the Senate candidate asserted that Republicans sought to pass such a law “because they understand that at any given time,  there’s tens of thousands of Pennsylvanians who typically are on the poorer side and are people of color that are less likely to have their ID at any one given time.”

“A completely racist comment. Sadly, it’s unsurprising from Democrat John Fetterman— the same guy who pulled a shotgun on an unarmed and innocent black jogger,” Ted Cruz responded at the time.

Clearly, John Fetterman’s backpack as a candidate is somewhat heavy and, coupled with his refusal to debate Mehmet Oz, the Senate race in Pennsylvania promises to tighten until November 8.
